DIY FACE MASKS


Too bored to embark on a talent hunt within you? I've got you covered with some amazing home-made skincare routine. After all, who does not want to pamper themselves with a clear and flushed up skin? Not to take much of your concentration away from the topic, here's a list of some amazing DIY face masks that are surely going to pay off well in the long run, IF and ONLY IF you're willing to keep doing them.


For Oily Skin

Oily skin beauties know how to struggle with a face swimming in sweat and oil, both at once. In summer, the face as well as you are too tired to keep up with anything except for wiping your face with the tips of your finger or a piece of cloth. Here are a few easily prepared face mask concoctions.


1) Chickpea Flour and Milk Face Mask.

Ingredients: One tablespoon Chickpea flour (Besan), Half teaspoon of turmeric powder and one tablespoon milk.


*Mix them well and leave them on until dry.

*Scrub the mask off with the help of lukewarm water.

*Follow a cold water wash and pat dry.


2) Strawberry and Honey Face Mask.

Ingredients: 3-4 normal sized strawberries and two teaspoons of honey.


*Mash the strawberries with a hand blender or with the help of your fingers.

*Add honey.

*Wash off the face mask with lukewarm water after 15 minutes.

*Follow a cold water wash and pat dry.


3) Cucumber Face Mask.

Ingredients: 2-3 Average sized cucumbers.


*Grate the cucumber and blend it to make a paste.


*Apply it on your face till slightly dry.


*Wash it off with cold water and pat dry.


For Dry Skin

Dry skin beauties know that even in hot and humid conditions, their skin becomes a tough guy to handle. With break-outs, irritation and peeling skin, things go really bad. However, you are not alone in this. Here are a few face mask DIYs you can definitely try.


1) Chickpea Flour and Curd Face Mask.

Ingredients: One tablespoon Chickpea flour(Besan), Half teaspoon of turmeric powder, one teaspoon of glycerin and one tablespoon curd.


*Mix them well and leave them on until dry.

*Scrub the mask off with the help of lukewarm water.

*Follow a cold water wash and pat dry.


2) Banana Face Mask.

Ingredients: One ripe banana and three teaspoons of honey.


*Blend the banana as well as the honey in a clean blender. (Alternatively, you can mash the banana)


* Keep it on for 15 minutes.


*Wash the mask off with lukewarm water.


*Pat dry.


3) Coffee and Olive Oil Mask.

Ingredients: One tablespoon of coffee and two teaspoons of olive oil.


*Mix the ingredients well and apply on the face with circular fingertip motions.


(Circular motions because coffee does the scrubbing too.)


*Leave it on for 15 minutes.


*Wash the mask off with coldwater.


*Pat dry.


For Combination Skin

Living with a combination skin is like living with uncertainties. One can never know or assess, when his/her skin will have a break-out or a peel or will the oil in T-zones ever suffer existential dread (like most of us? LOL. DARK PUNS! ) Here are some DIYs to help you survive.


1) Chickpea Flour and Curd Face Mask.

Ingredients: One tablespoon Chickpea flour (Besan), Half teaspoon of turmeric powder and one tablespoon curd. (NO GLYCERIN OKAY? Glycerin moisturises and we don't even know if we need a moisturiser or not! )


*Mix them well and leave them on until dry.

*Scrub the mask off with the help of normal water.

*Follow up with a cold water wash.


*Pat dry.


2) Papaya Face Mask

Ingredients: A small piece of papaya and a teaspoon of honey.


*Mash the papaya and add honey to it.


*Keep it on for 15-20 minutes.


*Wash it off with normal water.


*Pat dry.


3) Rice Face Mask


 Ingredients : Two tablespoons of Rice and two tablespoons of water.


*Soak the rice for 2-3 hours in water.


*Blend the rice along with the water to make a thick paste.


*Keep it on for 15 minutes.


*Wash it off with normal water by gently scrubbing the mask with your fingertips.


*Follow a cold water wash.


*Pat dry.
