There are two major packages annouced that is Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Package 1 and 2.

Under the first package,

₹ 50 lakh insurance coverage for each of 22.12 crore health care workers will be provided, which is a good step taken towards the covid warriors. For the next three months either wheat or rice, pulses and gas cylinders are to be provided for free to the poor. While this step has been hailed by a lot of people but some say this is not enough since it doesn't include other essentials such as salt, oil and sugar. Also, the 20 crore Jan Dhan female account holders are to get Rs.500 per month for the next 3 months, which is meager to be considered for a month and too it's only for women.Along with these,MNREGA wage is increased from Rs.182 to Rs.202. Government has also planned to give Rs.1000 help to 3 crore poor senior citizens, poor widows and poor Divyang.

Under the second package, The government will transfer Rs.2000 under PM-KISAN Yojana to 8.69 crore farmers in April 1st week. But here, it is important to understand that this is a pre-existing scheme wherein farmers receive Rs.6000 annually. The government is giving this Rs.2000 as a first installment of the whole. The building and the construction workers' fund are allowed to be used to provide relief to workers. Now what is this fund? This is a fund which states maintain for the welfare of the workers and it's been said to be released for the relief of the present condition of the workers. But the major question to be raised here is what were these funds doing earlier? If they are to be used now.

24% of monthly wages to be credited into workers' PF accounts for the next 3 months for wage earners below Rs.15000 per month in business having less than 100 workers.

5 crore workers registered under Employee Provident Fund to get non-refundable advance of 75% of the amount or 3 months of the wages, whichever is lower, from their accounts.

Also, under this, the limit of collateral free lending to be increased from Rs.10 to Rs.20 lakhs for women self help group which accounts 6.85 crore households.

Filing GST returns has also been extended to the end of June 2020.

There will be 24*7 custom clearance till 30th June,2020.Now, custom clearance is the preparation and submission of the documents required to export or import products into the country.

3 months relaxation for debit card holders to withdraw cash free from any ATM .This means that you may have a debit card from a bank, but you will now be allowed to draw cash from any other bank's ATM free of charge for the next 3 months. Under this the government has sanctioned Rs.15000 crore for Emergency Health Response Package. As the name suggests,it will be used in emergency situations to find COVID-19 patients.

Though some of the measures were needed but they have been presented in a very extraordinary fashion. Hopefully the intentions are more than just grabbing headlines and jhumlas.
